  • From Our Hearts is a not-for-profit 501c3 that began with a simple request by a son for a few handcrafted cards so that he could send “special” cards home to his wife and children while he serving his 6th deployment in Iraq. Today, the initial dozen handcrafted cards have turned into thousands of quality, handcrafted cards created and donated to From Our Hearts every month by hundreds of stampers nationwide and shipped to our servicemen and women serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A Single Mom Sends Our Cards Home Daily From Afghanistan

Another card received, this one from a PV2 from the National Guard Unit out of Joplin, MO - her name is Lisa.

She writes:

Dear 'From Our Hearts', my name is PV2 (last name) Lisa. I am in Afghanistan right now leaving behind a daughter (6 yrs in Jan) and another daughter (almost 9 mo.).  As a single mother you can imagine how hard this deployment has been on me so far.  I just want to let you know that I write them every day, sending each of them a cute card your group has made.  I love these cards & wanted to say thank you.

PS.  I also wanted to let you know that I have sent every soldier in my company a Christmas card (made by you) and I am also sending everyone birthday cards!  I just love all your cards so much, I decided to make sure every soldier gets one in the mail!  Thank you for all you do! -signed-

She wrote on the back of the envelope:  "Thanks to all the 'stampers' who make it all possible!

We are making so many of our soldier's lives brighter with just a simple, beautiful, handcrafted card.  The need for our cards is great.

Thank you, every one, who is making this possible.

Mailing Deadlines

  • 2012 special shipments will be mailed on or about 6-8 weeks prior to the holiday and we request cards to be received by the following dates:
    St. Patrick's Day: January 27
    Easter: February 12
    Mother's Day: March 18
    Father's Day: April 22
    4th of July: May 23
    Halloween: September 6
    Thanksgiving: October 1
    Christmas/Holiday: October 30
    Valentine’s Day: December 26
    All occasion cards are mailed over every 4-6 weeks, year round, depending upon the numbers of donations received and available funds.
