Grace Bible Chapel Ladies Stamp for the Troops

At the direction of Rosemary M from Elkton, MD, ladies from the Grace Bible Chapel gathered together recently to stamp and create cards to donate to From Our Hearts. 

 

Rosemary took photographs of their event - it looks like they had fun!

 

 

 

Busy, busy, the ladies created 239 cards.

 

 

Each one, lovely! And quite the variety -

 

 

All cards were prepared with a customized slip and into a clear envelope - we were delighted to find that all we had to do was put them in their appropriate holding boxes.

Two Words

Thank you.

Two words.  Simple, but written with heart.

I am overseas, an it's Christmas (also my birthday in 3 days).  If you were to ask me what it looked like where I am, I would say, "Think of the surface of the moon, then add an airfield and barbed wire."

I am an Airman in the Air Force, and I work on teh engines of a "certain" plane.  But more importantly, I am a husband and a father of 3 beautiful daughters.

I know my job, know what needs to be done and love my country.  This place is dull, dry and barren, but is paradise when we receive letters and packages from home.  We deeply appreciate your time and efforts in what you do.  It really makes a difference.

Contributors Contribute Again

From our home state of Missouri, Lesley T of Kirkwood, shipped us a box of 36 cards - and included a cash contribution, too - and Lesley knows that this is how we are able to mail the boxes overseas!  Thanks Lesley for this additional support!

 

Lesley made a variety of cards, to include Valentines that arrived for our Valentine shipment, love you, Mother's Day, miss you and other General all occasion cards.

Our next contributor is from Mira Loma, CA - her name is Chris S and this is her 2nd contribution to our cause.  Chris made 110 Valentines and 8 wedding cards -

Judging by the letters, post cards and e-mails of thanks we receive, we think so!  Our thanks to Chris for her continued support!

Illinois and Indiana Contributions Arrive

We thank our contributors, each one! 

Pam M, Westchester, IL shipped us 41 cards for our Valentine shipment and we were pleased to see them arrive in time.  Thanks Pam!

 

Rosemary C, Maquon, IL, sent 100 cards - a mixture - all box ready, and included 20 pens, too.

Along with cards for our major shipments (Valentines, Easter, Mother's Day, etc.), we need all purpose, general cards year round - and appreciate the variety Rosemary sent!

From Peru, Indina, Mary M transformed more donated card fronts into beautiful, useable cards - and we appreciate the work she does for From Our Hearts.

Mary also focused on all purpose cards - as our supply has run very low.

Mary's boxes contained more than 550 cards.

Kim O is also from Indiana - South Bend - and she, too is a frequent contributor.

This shipment? 100 box ready Valentines.  Kim made sure that each card has a white or off white mounted inside - and let us know so that we didn't have to check each card - thanks for going the extra step, Kim!

And we appreciate the "kid" cards - they will be very well received!

RuthAnn H is from Chicago, IL, and this shipment was amostly  supplies - card stock, to be exact.

Retired card stock!  And we are happy to receive it - we use it as bases for the card fronts that are donated to us - and we turn them into cards.

 RuthAnn also sent us cards - and beautiful ones, too!  Thanks RuthAnn!

Dear Our Hearts Staff,

I wanted to say "thank you" for sending so many beautiful and cute cards for our troops.  Your efforts made our lives richer and filled w/love when we write cards to our loved ones.  I have used a few cards for my friends and family and they really enjoyed receiving them.  Your cards brighten their days as well as mine.  Really appreciate your time and effort to support us away from home.  Have a blessed day!

Worth a Million E-Mails...

I just wanted to say thank you for all of the beautiful cards that were made and sent over. I have personally used many of the cards to send special notes back home to my husband, kids, and other family members. When we're away, a card in the mail with some loving words are worth a million e-mails. There's just something special about it, and I thank you so much for all of the work put into doing this for us. I know I, and the others in my unit, (as well as our family members) greatly appreciate these gifts! Thank you so much!!

Supporting Our Efforts, One Box At a Time

Contributions Come in Different Ways

And we appreciate every one of our contributors!

Carolyn P is one such individual who contributes in a unique way to From Our Hearts - she is our official correspondent, responding to each and every letter, card and postcard received in the mail that has a return address.  We don't know what we would do without her help as we recieve many every week.

Last year, Carolyn wrote 93 cards and donated the postage for each and every one of them.  Of course, the postage is tax deductible as we are a not for profit organization.
