Thank you for all the wonderfully made cards!  We truly appreciate your support during our time down range.  We hope this card finds you well and in good spirits!  We love your cards and would love to receive more if possible.  Thank you again!

Maine Stampers Come Through For Us, Again

Mainely Caring Cardmakers from Woolwich, ME mailed a box of cards and supplies early last month -

And lots of supplies - stamps for us to use donated by Salt Bay Arts, adhesive, pens for the boxes donated by Edna W. - we sure appreciate their support . . . (and we are OUT of pens now, the last being shipped off in the Mother's Day card shipment early this week), and lace flower embellishments, like the ones on the card they made and sent, below:

. . .  the lace has been used, just recently, on Mother's Day cards that we created and were put together at a card making event that From Our Hearts put on for the ladies at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on March 17.   This is the card that we designed and that were made:

We thank the Caring Cardmakers for helping us out with the lace!  The Mainely Caring Cardmakers created 320 cards, 131 Easter and the rest of all occasion.

And there is more - a cash contribution from Edna W and Dot B - Wow!  We are so thankful for all their support!

OUCH!!  This next box arrived from Buxton, ME - from Marilyn Mae T and the Patriot Way Stampers - BUT FEAR NOT - although the box suffered the wrath of the shipping... believe it or not, we are HAPPY to report that ALL the cards arrived in GREAT SHAPE!  WHEW!!!  We were a bit worried when we picked the box up from the post office...!

And here is the proof - Ms. Marilyn Mae sent us 60 cards - Valentines . . .

Christmas . . .

and many thank you and other blank/birthday/congratulations cards.

A Thanks From Topeka... AND A Thanks For Your Card Stock Contributions

From Regina and our volunteers in Topeka who help us by turning donated card fronts into cards, an email and these words:

"I've received 3 pkgs. this week and between the three, 277 pieces of needed cardstock!!  . . .AWESOME - that's 554 cards!!  This helps out tremendously."

We thank our contributors who have responded to our "wish list" request and have donated current Stampin' Up!® card stock to help with our card front-conversion efforts.  With your help, our donated funds can targeted to postage - and those costs have increased $0.50 a box to $13.45 per box and these costs add up when we send off 36+ boxes at a time -

Please e-mail us if you have card fronts or card stock to donate - we accept both, year round.  We'll let you know where to send them to.

A St Patty's Day Card Picked... for a Special Reason

Dear Cynthia K (Norco, CA)/From Our Hearts,

I truly appreciate your support of the USO and allowing us to send a few greeting cards home.  It definitely means a lot to the soldiers, Marines, Airmen and sailors stationed in Afghanistan to know folks back home are thinking of them.

I'll be sending a St. Patty's card to my grandmother in Bakersfield, CA.  Being Irish-American, St. Patty's was always a special holiday for us.  I know she'll get a kick out of it and it sure makes me feel good making her day.

I am assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Kandahar Airfield.  We are tasked with improving public services and infrastructure for the Afghan people to facilitate our transition to the Afghan government.

Compliments to From Our Hearts and Our Cards

Ms. Shea,

I got your letter about the cards and just wanted to say thank you so much for them.  They are all so beautiful and many of us on my team here in Afghanistan sent them to our families for Christmas.  I have not stopped getting such wonderful compliments about them.  I am on a Forward Surgical Team here in Farah, Afghanistan, here for one year.  However, we have been here four months and we only have eight more to go!  It's a small team, only 9 people and we are pushed far forward into the more austere areas to stabilize critical injured soldiers before evacuating them to a higher level of care.  Phones and internet are always in and out, so it was nice to be able to send such beautiful cards home to our families.  I think your card ministry is fantastic and can't begin to tell you how much those of us on the 67th FST appreciated it.  Is is such an honor for us to serve people like you.  You will probably never know how much your support and kindness mean to us over here!  Thanks again to you and your organization "From Our Hearts". Dear Martha,

Thank you once again for the package of handcrafted cards and pens.  It's amazing to think that your organization began with a simple request from one deployed soldier.  The availability of an few handcrafted cards for one soldier has multiplied a hundredfold to men and women in uniform who are serving in this part of the world.  Thank you so much for your continued effort to provide these cards.  They are appreciated, not only for their high quality of craftsmanship, but also for the outpouring of love and support behind each one.
