Cards Arrive From Operation Kitsap Kards and Love Notes

From Our Hearts received an e-mail from Teresa Z:

Our group of ladies (Operation Kitsap Kards) held a card workshop this past Tuesday. We focused mainly on Mother and Father's day cards but there are other categories from birthday, Fourth of July, thinking of you to hello cards. All cards are in clear envelopes with inserts included and are sorted by category.

The box is being mailed priority today so should arrive no later than Wed.

I have included a few photos as attachments of some of the cards that were made.

The box arrived, and we found a note from Diane W: "This is the 3rd time our small group of ladies (we had 8) from WA state has made cards for From Our Hearts.  We decided we should have a name & came up with Operation Kitsap Kards. . . All of us from Operation Kitsap Kards thank all of you at From Our Hearts for doing this for our troops."  And we say "you are welcome" and "thank you!", for without the support of individuals and groups such as Operation Kitsap Kards, no cards would be going over to our troops!

136 cards were in the box they mailed to us from Bremerton, WA.  They made Mother's Day, Father's Day, Birthday, love you, thank you, thinking of you, and more.  Our thanks to the ladies of Operation Kitsap Kards!

Dacia S and "Love Notes", Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC stamped and mailed 523 cards!

We found 507 Mother's Day cards and the rest Easter, Birthday, Thank You . . .

and a few Christmas cards, too.

More Mother's Day Cards Arrive

From Cedar Rapid, IA, Jan C's box arrived - and we found 50 "box ready" cards - each one carefully made.

and some cute kid cards, too.  Our thanks to Jan for every box she sends!

Sue S, Holts Summit, MO made 196 Mother's Day cards for our effort!  Sue is one of our local volunteers and used some of our donated paper - we appreciate all the supplies that are mailed to us and to Sue for turning the paper into cards!

Dee T from Arlington Heights, IL mailed a big box of 323 cards and included 2 packages of Stampin' Up!® translucent envelopes and a cash donation, too, to help with costs.

Lots of variety - and we also found a note from Dee: "My son, Steve, is safely home from Afghanistan.  Prayers answered - " This is great news!  And we thank Steve for his service to our country and to Dee for her continued support!

Carol C, Woodstown, NJ shipped "beautiful cards, high quality" (this is the note our volunteers placed on her "check in" sheet).  134 cards. "box ready" - and also quite a variety.  Mother's Day, and many all occasion cards - and we appreciate receiving them as we ship over all occasion cards every 4-6 weeks as our supply allows.

Carol included Father's Day cards, too.

Friendship, love you, thank you, wedding, and many, many more.

And even cards for children, too.  Our thanks to Carol for yet another box!

Our next contributor, Anne S, is from Killen, AL.

Ann mailed another BIG box - this time, 268 cards, and each envelope decorated - she included a cash contribution, too -

Her slip is in memory of Sammy Mann, Desert Storm & Operation Iraqi Freedom II - and Anne writes that her church group helped her, again, to finish the cards.  our thanks to Anne and all the ladies who helped her.

From Riverside, CA, The Classy Red Hatters stamped 378 cards - Judy M writes "We have so much fun doing this! AND it is filled with so much love for our troops.  We have another box of almost 200 cards that are waiting to be packed and then shipped.  Couldn't get them all in 1 box!"  Their next box will be on the blog very soon!

In this box, all cards were Mother's Day - and we appreciate it!  Thank you, ladies!

From Rineyville, KY, Margaret L and Vivian from Throgmorton, IL created 193 cards and their box arrived in our Post Office box -

They created 48 Mother's Day cards, and the rest were all occasion cards to include anniversary, baby, birthday, and many more, to include get well cards.  We thank Margaret and Vivian for their contribution!

The Mainely Caring Cardmakers have been stamping again!  From Woolwich, ME, this group of stampers headed up by Phyllis M created 389 cards -

129 Mother's Day and 108 Father's Day cards were among the cards we took out of their box.

And, many, many all occasion cards, too.

Phyllis included a check to help with postage, too.  Our thanks to Phyllis and the Mainely Caring Cardmakers!

Arlene D, Rome, NY and the Camden Stamp Club, Camden, NY stamped and mailed a box to us -

The Camden stamp club created 94 Mother's Day cards and Arlene stamped 64 Father's Day cards and donated the clear envelopes - Arlene tells us that The Gallery and Associated Enterprises, New Hartsford, NY donated all the envelopes.

From Kendall Park, NJ, Cindy B has been donating to From Our Hearts since we formed our Not For Profit several years ago - Cindy mails boxes to us on a regular basis. 

This time, she mailed 239 Mother's Day cards!

Fran K from Piedmont, AL has been busy, and this time, she stamped with the ladies from Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Anniston, AL), St. Joachim Catholic Church (Piedmont, AL) and Cherokee County Catholic Mission (Cantre, AL) - and between the three, 100 cards were made.

Each group made some of each of the four designs.

On behalf of the Chapel at Forward Operational Base Farah and the Soldiers & Sailors depoloyed here, thank you for your beautiful gifts.  Your cards provide a way for our service members to stay in touch with loved ones.

Our Chaplain G has returned home and SSG O has taken over as NCOIC of our chapel.  He keeps services and bible study going as we have no replacement chaplain coming to Farah.  SSG O is also keeping the Chaplain's closet open for service members who are deployed.

A box arrived recently from Diana B, Sugar Grove, IL - inside? 201 "box ready" and great looking cards!

Diana is a team member of Julie Wilson, our official volunteer in Sugar Grove, IL - and we appreciate all the support she gives Julie and for making and sending us a box, too!

Lovely cards, 130 were Valentines (we are getting a head start on next year!) and many "masculine" freindship cards.

Kathy S,Independence, MO mailed us another box - this time, 170 cards and hers, too, were received "box ready".

Pretty cards!  Among them, 158 Mother's Day and hi/hello, thinking of you, birthday and more.

Sharon C and the ladies of the Guardian Lutheran Church in Dearborn, MI have been busy stamping again.

This time, 192 "box ready" cards, and many different designs, each nicely done -

Merry L and the Friday Stampers from The Woodlands, TX mailed 216 cards and also a cash donation from Janet C, one of their members - thanks ladies!

Quite the variety we found - take the left side of our inventory sheet and they made some of just about every one!

The ladies even sent a few fourth of July, summer and some holiday cards, too.  Thanks ladies!

Next us is one of our frequent contributors - from El Paso, TX, Lina W sent another box and a package of cards.

Apologizing for not sending more (she was a bit under the weather), all we can say is "we appreciate all you do!"  General all occasion and "blank" cards is what she mailed and these are the "staples" of our inventory - and we appreciate receiving them!

Peggy S, Clayton, NC mailed us 150 cards and from her notes she made, it appears she made 50 each month in Dec, Jan and Feb - this is a great way to get a big box of cards to us!

Birthday, religious and thinking of you are the types of cards she focused on.

And lovely cards they are!  We thank Peggy for her donation!

Last, but not least, is a 350 card box that arrived from our card converters, Regina A and her sisters in Topeka, KS.  They focused on Mother's Day, Father's Day and all occasion cards -

These were once in someone's closet or drawer...

Now, they are great looking cards, either already shipped or will be shortly.

Once again, we appreciate all of our contributors - and thank each one of you for your support!

Wish List Item

It isn't often that we request certain types of cards, as we need all types of cards all year round - but now is one of those times that we have a need for general all occasion, blank note cards, those that say "hi/hello", and masculine cards, too.

So, if you are wondering "what can I make", please consider adding a few of these to your next box.
