Recently, a postcard was received from Camp Leatherneck:

Chiaki Donates Again

From Santa Ana, CA, From Our Hearts received another big box of cards from one of our frequent contributors, Chiaki H.  This time, Chiaki sent 230 cards and 49 card fronts, each card sorted and labeled by type.  What a help this is to us!

She sent us quite a variety, and we appreciate receiving them, even the Christmas and Easter cards!

She also sent us some supplies - ribbon, designer paper and a Simply Sent Card Kit by Stampin' Up!®

Our thanks to Chiaki for all her beautiful cards and her support of our efforts, and of our troops!

A Cute Note

Those of us at the home office at From Our Hearts got a chuckle out of this letter that we received recently:

"To From Our Hearts:

Thank you so much for sending the cards to all the Joe's over here in Afghanistan.  I have already sent some home.

I hope this letter finds you all in good spirits.

Remember to buy American made products.

Our cards are 100% made in the USA (and some in Canada, thanks to our northern neighbor contributors) - and I would guess that most of the product that goes into making our cards is from the USA!

Cards and Supplies Arrive From Gardners, PA

We thank Judy S for sending us ribbon, ink pads and reinkers!  And, oh yes, she also sent us 178 cards with customized slips that indicate the cards were made not only by Judy, but other Stampin' Up!® stampers as well - Pat, Janet, Darlene, Lena, Aimee and Melinda.

And quite the variety they sent - just about every type of card on the left side of our inventory sheet!

Beautifully crafted, we appreciate the care and attention they took in making these cards.

Going Home . . .

Dear From Our Hearts:

Thank you for the fabulous home made cards you have been sending me at Camp Eggers, Afghanistan.  I first discovered your cards when I arrived in country at the Bagram Air Base USO in September 2011.  I have good news:  I am redeploying early, at the end of July.  But I won't be able to go home until mid-August.  I also had training for 4 months before deploying.  Although I will only be deployed for 10 1/2 months, I will have been away from home for 15 months.  Your cards help that time go by a little bit easier.

I don't have anyone to take on the cards delivery.  If you already have a package ready, I will find a good home.  But you do not have to send anymore.  Thank you again for your donations.

Note from the home office:  Our boxes of cards mostly go to chaplains, but we also send them to individuals, such as Tara, upon request.  She is leaving, but we have others who contact us, requesting boxes - our count at the moment is 39 different locations.  We are grateful to all our contributors who send us cards, fronts, supplies and of course, monetary donations to help us to keep the boxes going over!

New Contributor From Texas!

From Our Hearts received a package from a new contributor, Margie T, who is from Deer Park, TX.  Margie writes that she is in her 70's and has difficulty ordering on-line, so she sent us a check to purchase clear envelopes for her cards.  She writes: "What a blessing for me to be able to contribute."  We are blessed that she has joined our effort and mailed us 50 cards!

Margie used our inventory sheet, and noted that she sent us miss you, get well, miss you, sympathy and more.

Using the inventory sheet is a tremendous help to us when we check in the boxes - and we appreciate the effort that she and so many others of you go through to help us out!
