From Our Hearts is Honored to Receive an American Flag

This package of "official mail" required a special pickup at the post office.  Wondering what it could be and who was sending us official mail, it was difficult to wait until we arrived at the home office to open this special package.

Inside, a camouflaged triangle - and yes, we figured out what may be inside.  You see, From Our Hearts Founder, Martie comes from a long military tradition and knows how to fold the American Flag as she has done it hundreds of times.  This looked like it may contain a flag.  We were right.

 

The flag, a gift to From Our Hearts for all we are doing for our soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen, was a gift to us from the Combined Joint Special Operations Air Component Command in Iraq.

Their letter to us says "Special Operations plays a vital role in getting the bad people off the streets of Iraq so Iraq can enjoy peace throughout their country.  Your support to us helps make this task a little easier.  We won't return until the task is complete!  It's people like you that keep people like us going!  Thank you and God Bless!"

No gift of a flag is ever not flown.  This was flown in Iraq in the war zone.  A special display case will be made for it.

We are honored to have received such a special gift of thanks.  None of this would be possible without all of the cards, supplies and monetary contributions from all of you.

From one of our faithful chaplains ...

One of the most satisfying joys about working with From Our Hearts, it the INSTANT feedback we get. A lot of organizations wait years to see if they have had an impact with their efforts.

Not us.

Not normally that is. We get cards, letters and emails from our Chaplains on a regular basis, always letting us know exactly how great of an impact we have had on our Troops with our card store boxes that we send over monthly.

Which brings me to Chaplain Payne, author of one of our regular feedback notes we get here at From Our Hearts. He has written us many times, much to our delight. He is in Iraq and we have been hearing about how things there are quite busy with the pull back going on. Apparently, it has affected our Chaplains as well. This note was written back in April and we didn't receive it till July.

Doesn't matter tho, the message is timeless . . .

 

It says:

Martha,

I wish that you could see the joy that my Marines and Sailors have when we give them your cards.  Yesterday, two female guards went crazy as they went through a box to pick out a few cards (we have it on very good authority that they only take 5 at a time out of respect for their fellow servicemen and women...they SHARE!) 
Going on, he says:
Personally, I handed out Mother's Day cards to individuals in all of our sections.  You are a blessing to us.  Also many moms will get cards.  Moms who do not get cards.  They will also be blessed by you.
