The holidays have come and gone, and not without many, many thoughts of all our contributors and those who receive your contributions of handcrafted cards. We are indebted to all of you - without you, our mission would not be fulfilled. Happy New Year! We are hoping for another successful year in helping our service men and women to keep in touch with their families, friends, and loved ones.
The thanks for the holiday cards keep coming in - and soon will be Valentines as 16 boxes were mailed this week. Our heartfelt thanks to all who got their cards to us early - it was a hectic and busy Christmas season for our volunteers at the home office - getting them early sure did make the holidays a bit less stressful.
Arriving today, a few of the cards of thanks:
(This first note came to us on a card made by stampers in Norman, OK)
"From Our Hearts,
Just wanted to drop ya'll a quick note this holiday season and thank you for all you do supporting the men and women currently deployed overseas! I have personally sent home at least 10 of your cards . . . and my wife and family can't begin to express how much it means to them. Keep up the outstanding work, it does not go unnoticed. I personally would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Also in our mail box, a nice thank you note:
"To whom it may concern,
I just wanted to w:
rite to your organization and say thank you so much for the cards. They are really so gorgeous! I'm in Afghanistan and where I am makes it a little hard to get internet/phone access. Writing home to my family and friends has become my way to communicate. I really appreciate all that you're doing for us. Thank you so much for the beautiful cards!
-SGT Taylor W"
The third of four that arrived today is addressed to "Mainely Caring Cardmakers, From Our Hearts":
"Mainely Caring Cardmakers,
Thank you for your wonderful cards. I have been using them to keep in touch with friends and family. Have a wonderful Holiday and a blessed New Year!
-Sgt Nathaniel J"
And one last card addressed to "Betsy from Camarillo, CA, From Our Hearts", also from Sgt Nathaniel J:
"Betsy from Camarillo, CA,
Thank you for your wonderful cards! I have used them to stay in touch with my kids and family back home! Have a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year,
-Sgt Nathanial J"
These last 2 cards will be forwarded on - and there are more that have come in that are not yet on the blog... those will be posted soon! Our thanks to all who made the holiday/Christmas card shipment possible.
