Mother's Day and Father's Day Cards

Looking back at all the contributions for Mother's Day and Father's Day cards, we are so pleased at the response to our plea for cards - our initial Mother's Day shipment included what we had on hand for Father's Day, too, to save on shipping costs - we are very cconservative with all your cash donations we receive -

With that said, we want to say that more Father's Day cards will be shipped over - our final shipping date is the 22nd - and we will mail over what we receive!

We have not been blogging regularly these past few weeks - with a newborn granddaughter (Martie and Tom) that took us out of town for an extensive period of time and an injury to Martie's shoulder - now under doctor care and getting better - our time on the computer has been limited - we hope all will understand.  And, as so many contributions have been received, not all will make it to the blog - there just isn't enough time or days to post every one!  We are attempting to post each box received (name/city and state) and will post photos of those contributions as we can.

With that said, we would like to show some that have been received recently:

Mary M, Peru, IN sent us 121 of her original designs.  Here is one of them that we thought was just beautiful!

April S, Chino Hills, CA sent us 260 cards - many Mother's Day cards.  Her comment to us: "It's my honor to make cards for our brave troops!" - and we thank April, as we share her thoughts!

From Norman, OK, our volunteer, Ruth C has been busy, busy, busy - 2 boxes of 626 cards arrived and nearly 1/2 of them were Mother's Day cards -

From Our Hearts Thanks Our Recent Contributors

Our many thanks to so many of you who enabled From Our Hearts to ship out 28 boxes of Easter cards and 23 boxes of Mother's Day/Father's Day cards.  This year, From Our Hearts combined the shipping of MD/FD cards to save on postage - and because we had room in the boxes for both.  We will be sending out supplemental boxes to various "large" units - so please, keep them coming in!

We would like to acknowledge the receipt of contributions from the following individuals - there are still some of the "check-in" sheets at the office from boxes received in the last day or two so another posting will be done when they are picked up.

Boxes Came In February, Easter and Mother's Day Cards

February was a relatively slow month for From Our Hearts - and then we found out the post office was holding boxes and not notifying us that they had been received . . .

These past few days, many, many boxes finally made it to us - some that were postmarked early February.  We'll post the names tomorrow as all the check in sheets are at the office, still.  Fortunately, those boxes arrived in time - many, many Mother's Day cards were included - and our shipment will go out March 22.  This year, From Our Hearts will ship out those Father's Day cards with the Mother's Day cards to save on shipping costs.  Supplemental boxes of Father's Day cards will be mailed as they are received.  There is time, yet, to get both these cards to us!

Susan S from Tacoma, WA mailed us not Easter or Mother's Day cards, but love, miss you, and many more of all occasion cards that we include in just about every shipment.  We are very low on blank (no sentiment) and general cards (and miss you, too) - so please keep these coming in.

Susan's 27 cards mean one more card to 27 boxes - and we are so thankful!  Her cards are beautiful.

Thinking of you and thank you cards are needed, too, and Susan's contribution is a welcomed sight!

Peggy B is from Pahrump, NV and Peggy sends us cards and other supplies (pens, stamp sets) and a check to help us with our costs.  We thank Peggy for all she contributes!

This shipment of hers included many Easter, St. Patrick's Day and Mother's Day cards, too.

We take photos of every contribution and wish we could post more of each!!

From Woolwich, ME, the Mainely Caring Cardmakers were busy, sending us 2 boxes with 453 cards and lots of supplies, too - double sided tape (they send us Duck brand which is very good tape), pens and more.

200 of the cards were Easter, and the remainder, miss you cards.

Nice cards!  Our thanks to Phyllis M who heads up this effort in the NE part of our country!

Ruth C, Norman, OK told us she was going to have to "slow down" on her card making efforts - and we don't believe her this time!  3 large priority boxes arrived with 910 cards!!!

Love you, Easter, Mother's Day and more - we know how much time and effort it takes to make up "card kits" for others to put together, and she truly amazes us!

Arriving from the windy city (and lost of snow, too), Susan J's contribution of 103 Easter cards were very much welcomed.

Always prepared so carefully, her beautiful cards helped us to fill up our Easter shipment.

We Are Back!

It's been a long time since our last blog post on From Our Hearts' blog - and for a good reason (we think!). Martie and Tom have been out of state for a month, welcoming our newest granddaughter to this world and helping the new mom and dad (spoiling them...as only parents can do!)

We are back (missing holding our new baby), and wish to THANK EVERYONE who contributed to us during our absence.  Our many thanks to Susan F who held down the fort during our absence - picking up the mail, checking in boxes and mailing off all those Easter cards - a big job, for sure.  We are now getting back into the swing of things, after unpacking, laundry, grocery shopping - everything needed to get back on our feet, we are ready!

Many of these cards are Easter cards, and as a result, 34 boxes were sent in February.  The boxes were "backfilled" with all occasion cards as we fell short of filling them up entirely with Easter cards.  As a result, our "holding" boxes of all occasion cards are so very depleted.  We could use cards of all types right now.  The Mother's Day shipment is scheduled to ship on March 22 - and to date, From Our Hearts has 11 full boxes of this type - and could use more - contributions of even 10 cards helps to fill up the boxes.

Remember, Father's Day comes in June - and we will mail these out in April (or combine them with the Mother's Day shipment, if we don't have sufficient amounts of all occasion cards) - we appreciate your help!!!

From the volunteers at the home office, we want to thank everyone for your support - and your monetary contributions help us to ship the boxes, too.  Any checks received during this past month will be deposited shortly - all funds sent in were held until our return.  We also want to let you know we have recieved many thank yous that will be posted soon, too.

Cards Arrive

From Pahrump,NV, our very own Peggy B has sent another box of cards and 100 pens, too - plus, a cash contribution to help with our shipping costs - we so appreciate the donations as we are fully funded by YOUR support!

All cards were ready, meaning that those with dark card stock bases had white inserts in them so that their is light space to write - we have to take time to ADD white/vanilla to so many cards and we appreciate Peggy for taking the time to make sure the cards are ready to ship!

Many love you, and Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter and so much more we found in her box.

Next us are a pair of stampers from Williamsport, Pennsylvania - Lana F and Audrey A have been so busy!

Between the two, they sent From Our Hearts 231 cards - and they both are also our newest "card front converters" - helping us to turn those donated card fronts into cards - so please, KEEP THE CARD FRONTS COMING!  We have so many that want to help us and we need to keep them busy!  These cards are from Lana . . .

From Beaumont, TX, Elizabeth K mailed us 80 cards, to include kids cards, too - this is her 2nd contribution to our effort and we so appreciate it.

Along with the kids cards, she mailed many all occasion cards.  Asking us: "I have many card fronts and much retired SU! card stock to send to you.  Will you also take retired DSP? Are you also interested iin card stock pieces the size of a card front?"  Our answer:  ABSOLUTELY!!! Yes, please send them on!

From Riverside, CA, the Classy Red Hatters have been stamping again!  Sent in by Valerie B, we appreciate receiving the 196 cards (box ready!) from them.

More Boxes Arrive-Thank You!!

From Irmo, SC, Jean W is one of the first ever contributor to From Our Hearts.  And, she continues to send us cards from time to time. 

Recently, Jean sent 108 cards, and just about as many card fronts, cards prepped but not assembled, and more.

She made a varitey of all occasion cards - we thank Jean!

Bev P, Shiloh, Illinois, is also one of our very first contributors.  She heard our plea for Valentines, and 98 came our way.  Along with those, 35 other cards were created - birthday, thank you and miss you, too.

Valentines And More Arrive From CA, WI, And TX

A regular contributor to From Our Hearts, Cynthia K from Norco CA sent in her 12th contribution.  This package contained 127 Valentines (and so appreciated by the home office!)

Great cards!  We thank Cynthia for EVERYTHING she contributes to our effort!

From Texas City, TX, Brenda R sent us another box (this is her 4th time) - and she, too, sent all Valentines, and 144 pens for us to place in each box we ship (we typically send about 20 in each box, and her contribution makes a BIG difference!)

She sent beautiful cards - our thanks to Brenda!

Roxie A, Duarte, CA, is also a frequent contributor - this is the 8th package she has mailed to From Our Hearts, and we know the troops will love her cards!

Lori E is a new contributor from Austin, TX - and many, many cards for kids were included in her box - Valentines, Love You, and some religious cards, too -

From Chino HIlls, CA, From Our Hearts Volunteer April S has been busy - 181 cards!  We, at the home office, take the time (when we have the time) to create and stamp cards (with donated supplies) that we need - and know how time intensive it can be.  April's 181 cards, we know, took a lot of her time to create!  This is her 14th contribution - and she put a note on her inventory sheet: "Blessings on our troops!"

Every one of her cards was either Valentines or Love You - and every one has been shipped.  From Our Hearts' love you card supply is depleted - and we are in need of many more.  Our heartfelt thanks to April for her cards and all her efforts!

From Santa Fe, TX, MA Elliott sent us her first "solo" contribution, as she typically sends her cards along with another one of our frequent contributors.  MA sent us 120 cards of all occasions - to include 92 Valentines.

She also sent us a Stampin' Up!® stamp set for our use - our thanks to MA!

Another frequent contributor sent us a package - Jean Z, Dane, WI sent us her 11th contribution -

66 cards in all, and over half of them, Valentines. 

Thinking of you, birthday and love you cards were included, too - and we thank Jean for her contribution!

From Our Hearts is running low on just about every type of card as we "back filled" all Valentine boxes that were put together with all occasion cards (we did not have enough Valentines to send full boxes in this last shipment) - we can use all types of cards at this time - birthday cards seem to be the favorite of so many of you -- and we have a little bit of a supply of these on hand - all others, especially miss you, thinking of you and thank you cards are needed!
